Chef Sheetharam Prasaad joined the family of GRT Hotels and Resorts in January 2000.
He was born and brought up in Chennai. After completion of his Culinary Education, Chef Sheetharam started his career at the Taj Connemara as a chef trainee and believing on hard work and dedication ascending to Corporate Executive Chef in the hospitality industry. Passion and interest in culinary driven him to continue his learning in different prospective by achieving and participating in various Culinary Events, Food Promotions, Live cookery shows ,Food Competitions, Food Styling ,Training Programmes, food demos and T.V shows, etc.
Chef Sheetharam is a dynamic and target oriented chef, who has been in the industry as a Culinarian for past 25 years dedicating him to learn and experiment about different cuisines around the world to satisfy guests and to redefine their dining experience with GRT with every dining experience.
Chef Sheetharam’s appreciation of his delectable food from the dignitaries includes Indian prime minister, British Premier, President of India, Chief Ministers, Chennai Governor, deputy chief minister, Oscar award winner, Nepal king etc.
Chef Sheetharam is the member of many professional organizations including World Association of chef’s societies (WACS), General Secretary of South Indian Culinary Association (SICA), and Vice- President of the Indian Federation of Culinary Association (IFCA). He is a Certified Executive chef from WACS, certified judge for any international chef competition. He won gold medal in international chef competition 2013 held at Singapore, over all championship in the SICA’s culinary challenge 2012, silver medal for Euro Asia Culinary competition in Russia representing India in 2006. He also won the Silver Hat award in appreciation for the outstanding contribution to the culinary profession. He was awarded the bronze medal for the category of Ancient Indian cuisine (Sangakala Unuvu) at SICA (IFCA-southern region) & AAHAR convention held on 8th sep 2008 at Chennai accredited by WACS. He also won silver medal in a food competition conducted by Taj group of hotels’ Gourmet Olympics held at Taj Mahal hotel in Delhi in 1993. He participated in world chef congress in New Zealand, South Korea.
