RED GOLD TOMATOES FROM EUROPE

Red Gold from Europe is the name of the EU (European Union) project to raise awareness of EU preserved (canned) tomatoes 100% made in Europe. These canned preserved tomatoes are produced by a traditional process that keeps intact all the flavours of the fruit. Grown with great care and attention in the fertile volcanic soil, under the Mediterranean sun, these tomatoes are picked at their peak of ripeness and aroma, for maximum taste and nutrition and preserved by a  time-honoured tradition, using up-to-date technology.

About IFCA

The Indian Federation of Culinary Associations is a nodal body of culinary professionals in India and is an independent, apolitical, non-religious and voluntary organization of culinary professionals. IFCA was formed with the idea of developing the culinary profession and to showcase Indian cuisine on the global platform. IFCA hopes to promote culinary knowledge and propagate various kinds of food and bring obscure culinary styles and practices to the forefront.

The main objective of IFCA is to live up to the general interest of the profession and to knit a closer link between the professionals, culinary institutes, allied food service industry professionals and to develop a high ethical standard of the culinary art. IFCA is a forum dedicated to connecting culinary professionals across the geography of India with people and places with the knowledge they need to succeed.

Grown with great care and attention in the fertile volcanic soil, under the Mediterranean sun, these tomatoes are picked at their peak of ripeness and aroma, for maximum taste and nutrition and preserved by a  time-honoured tradition, using up-to-date technology.

They are healthier than raw tomatoes because their level of the antioxidant Lycopene, high to begin with, is increased by the canning process. And they are so delicious, providing a unique flavour to both Italian and Indian recipes.

The first recorded recipe for a classic tomato sauce was by Francesco Leonardi, cook for Empress Catherine the Great of Russia; from that moment on, nothing would stop the glorious rise of the tomato and in only a short time tomatoes would become a favoured ingredient, whether for royal banquets or the simple fare of the humble.
